Visiting Hours and Rules
Effective Sept. 4, 2009, Shands Jacksonville is implementing the following precautions:
- Restricted visitation of children 5 years old and younger from all patient-care areas, including patient rooms
- No one demonstrating flu like symptoms will be allowed visitation privileges, including vendors, contractors, clergy or patient family members
- Anyone visiting a patient with either confirmed or suspected H1N1 must wear a surgical mask or will be denied access
Hospital visiting hours for most areas are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. See below for exceptions.

Visitor Rules
All visitors are asked to observe the following rules:
No more than two visitors per patient are permitted in the room at any time.
Observe designated visiting hours for each unit.
Children under 12 are not permitted in inpatient areas of the hospital. Children should wait in the lobby supervised by an adult.
Observe the No Smoking rule. Use of tobacco products is forbidden anywhere on hospital grounds.
