Shands Jacksonville nurses named among area’s bestMonday, May 11, 2009 In May, five Shands Jacksonville nurses and one UF nurse will be honored at the Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida celebration for nursing excellence. This volunteer group of professional nurses provides funding for nursing scholarships, contributes dollars for research studies to improve patient care and recognizes the success of nurses. Nurses are nominated for this honor by colleagues, family members, patients and community members. Honorees are selected based on their professional contributions and how well these contributions are known and recognized in the community.
