Treatment Options
Surgical treatment includes the removal of a segment or the entire thyroid gland through an incision in the neck. After surgery, there may be a need for thyroid medication and/or treatment with radioactive iodine.

Thyroid surgery usually requires overnight stay in the hospital. There will be some pain around the site of the surgery.
