 The University of Florida Division of Thoracic Imaging works in a collaborative fashion to ensure appropriate communication between the Department of Radiology and thoracic specialists at Shands Jacksonville, including pulmonologists and cardiothoracic surgeons. Its focus is the delivery of non-invasive diagnostic imaging of the lungs, pulmonary arteries, mediastinum and chest wall. The imaging may be accompanied by directed biopsies of masses. Available imaging methods include computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and positron emission tomography (PET).
