Treatment Options
For some conditions of the stomach or small bowel, laparoscopic resection, with reconnection of the gut through smaller incisions, is possible. Occasionally, based on individual criteria, a larger incision with more extensive surgery is required.
After the surgery, hospitalization is required for about four to seven days until the patient is eating, walking and having bowel movements. Typically, the patient is then ready to go home.
