Hours: When it comes to breast health, the new Shands Jacksonville Advanced Breast Imaging Center offers the latest in imaging technology in a warm, welcoming environment. The center is one of fewer than 20 in the United States and the only one in the region to offer some of the most advanced services. Every woman who comes to the Advanced Breast Imaging Center at Emerson Medical Plaza experiences a softer mammogram made possible by MammoPad®. The center is the only location in the area to offer the foam pads that serve as a cushion between the patient’s breasts and the mammography machine. This comfort technology helps to enhance the patient’s mammogram experience by lessening the pain sometimes associated with the exam. The center has traditional mammography with computer-aided diagnosis, as well as new 3-D automated breast ultrasound and elastrography, which are noninvasive means to further evaluate a mass detected by mammogram. The center also provides bone densitometry testing to evaluate osteoporosis and other bone-deteriorating conditions. Healthcare Providers
