Medical Services and Treatments
Specialists in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology provide special consultation and advice for the child's primary care physician. They also care for hospitalized children with infectious diseases, such as:
- Bone and joint infections
- Fever of unknown origin (FUO)
- Fifth's disease
- H. influenzae meningitis; other forms of meningitis
- HIV/AIDS
- Kawasaki disease
- Measles, rubella, rubeola
- Mumps
- Pertussis or whooping cough
- Pneumonia
- Recurrent infections
- Roseola
- Varicella or chicken pox
They also provide resources and support to community physicians and their staffs, and serve as advisors regarding information and access to childhood immunizations.
