Shands Jacksonville has a separate Pediatric Emergency Center designed especially for children. Staffed by specially trained physicians in the UF Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, the center has mistake-proof dosage charts and instruments and supplies to ensure your child receives the appropriate treatment.

Shands Jacksonville is one of only two hospitals in Northeast Florida to have a separate emergency center that focuses exclusively on children's needs. The center sees more than 27,000 children every year and has one of the few pediatric emergency fellowship programs in the state.
