The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville Department of Neurosurgery provides patient care at the Shands Jacksonville Neuroscience Institute. The department provides inpatient and outpatient services for the diagnosis, management and rehabilitation for patients suffering from such disorders as epilepsy and Parkinson's disease.
The multidisciplinary approach at the Neuroscience Institute has fostered the development of specialized clinical and research programs for many neurological disorders. In addition, the department stands out nationally as a referral center for the treatment of spasmodic torticollis.
