Healthcare Services Medicine Hematology and Oncology

University of Florida physicians in the Division of Hematology and Oncology specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors and blood disorders. They provide patient consultations in the hospital as well as the outpatient setting. There are three board-certified medical oncologists and two board-certified hematologists/oncologists within the division.

All of the physicians are actively involved in clinical research directed at improving the knowledge and therapy of cancer services and participate in the post-graduate training of medical oncology fellows. The oncology fellowship program is highly competitive, and each year there are three oncology fellows pursuing their training and board certification in medical oncology.

The division operates the outpatient hematology/oncology clinic and works closely with physicians from various disciplines within the hospital, as well as allied health professionals in the outpatient Infusion Center, Breast Health Center, Radiation Oncology Center and the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute. Patient care within the Division of Hematology and Oncology often requires the expertise of multiple specialists, including surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, pulmonologists and radiation therapists.
