Medical Services and Treatments
Together with your pediatrician or primary care physician, the admitting hospitalist will coordinate your child’s admission to the appropriate facility. The pediatric hospitalists provide the following services:
- Performs medical examinations while the patient is in the hospital.
- Requests and reviews laboratory and other medical tests, such as blood tests and X-rays.
- Prescribes medicines.
- Confers with other hospital staff to assure care and treatment plans are followed.
- Talks with the parents and family about the patient's condition and treatment.
- Provides a full report to the child's physician
