The university's gynecologists take pride in their ability to interact comfortably and compassionately with women in all stages of life, from pediatric gynecology concerns through postmenopausal issues.
Diagnostic Procedures and Evaluations
Basic ultrasonography may be done for early pregnancy. Advanced ultrasonography may be used in high-risk pregnancies and is performed by the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division or Radiology.
Transvaginal sonography, saline infusion sonohysterogram, endometrial biopsies, cervical colposcopy and biopsy, vulvar biopsy and intense pulsed light (IPL) hair and skin lesion removal are also performed by the physicians.
Full pre- and post-procedure instructions are provided at the time of the procedure.
Treatment Options
Our goal is to improve the quality of life for patients. To that end, we provide a full range of medical and surgical options, including:
- Birth control (including ESSURE)
- Cone biopsy of the cervix
- Diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy
- Endometrial ablation
- Hormonal and non-hormonal treatments for menopausal symptoms
- Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)
- Operative gynecology including LAVH, laparoscopic hysterectomy and vaginal hysterectomy
- Uterine artery embolization (through referral to the interventional radiology service)
