The University of Florida's Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology offers a full range of obstetrical and gynecologic services.
Prenatal care is offered at multiple sites, with small groups of no more than three to five doctors so that each patient has a chance to meet and interact with all of her caregivers. One of those specialists will be on call to perform the delivery.
High-risk obstetrical patients may be managed by the group in consultation with Maternal and Fetal Medicine experts or may be transferred to the maternal-fetal team for full care, if that is determined to be in the best interest of the patient and her baby.
Gynecology services at Shands Jacksonville are staffed by UF physicians who provide comprehensive preventive, diagnostic and treatment services for women who have a disease or disorder of the reproductive system. They also offer regular medical examinations to ensure health and detect abnormalities.
