These University of Florida faculty physicians also see patients admitted to the medicine team at Shands Jacksonville. Medical care is provided by physicians comprised of one faculty physician, three internal medicine residents and a third-year medical student.

Additionally, the division offers two unique services to the Jacksonville community:

  • Senthil Meenrajan, MD, a board-certified geriatrician, provides outpatient geriatric services, including a comprehensive geriatric assessment clinic, as well as a dementia clinic.
  • Jacksonville Health and Transition Services provides primary care and a medical home to adolescents and young adults with chronic medical conditions who are transitioning from their pediatricians and pediatric specialists. This clinic is conducted in concert with a member of the University of Florida Division of General Pediatrics. Common disorders seen by the physicians in this clinic include:
    • Asthma
    • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
    • Cerebral palsy
    • Congenital heart disease
    • Psychiatric disorders
    • Rare genetic disorders
    • Seizure disorders
    • Sickle cell disease
    • Solid organ transplants
