The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville Division of Developmental Pediatrics at Shands Jacksonville brings together teams of pediatricians, therapists, specialists and psychologists to work with children at risk for learning, behavioral or developmental delays.
These teams serve children with a variety of disorders ranging from developmental delays that may be overcome with early care and treatment, to lifelong conditions that may be alleviated with ongoing support and appropriate care regimes, including:
- Apraxia of speech
- Amblyopia
- Auditory canal atresia
- Autism disorders
- Cerebral palsy
- Down syndrome
- Dysphagia
- Fragile X syndrome
- Genetic disorders
- Hearing impairment (hearing loss)
- Hypotonia
