The Shands Jacksonville Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is designed to limit the physiological and psychological effects of cardiac illness. Cardiac rehabilitative services are prescribed for patients following events such as:
- Angioplasty
- Bypass surgery
- Heart attack
- Heart failure
- Heart transplant
- Stable angina
- Stent placement
- Valve repair and/or replacement
The multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team consists of the University of Florida medical director, registered cardiac nurses, exercise physiologists, registered dieticians, pharmacists and a diabetes educator.
