Residency Programs
A major priority of the Shands Jacksonville Pharmacy Department's educational program is the advancement and growth of residency training programs following the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists residency accreditation standards.
 The department supports 10 residency positions and provides residency training in the following areas:
Most Shands Jacksonville pharmacy practitioners hold academic appointments with the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. In this capacity, they actively participate as APPE preceptors for UF Doctor of Pharmacy candidates.
In addition, our practitioners routinely participate in the education of other health care professionals including physicians, nurses and other professionals. They are also involved with public education activities to increase awareness of appropriate medication use and information on the practice of pharmacy.
