INSURANCE

  • Dental Insurance

    • School of Medical Technology

  • The Hospital offers each enrolled student coverage under the group plan for dental insurance at no cost to the student.

  • Health Insurance

  • The Hospital offers enrolled students coverage under the group plan for hospitalization insurance at no cost to the student.

  • Liability Insurance

  • Enrolled students receive blanket liability insurance. Individual liability is available through ASCLS.

  • Life Insurance

  • The Hospital pays the cost of each enrolled student's individual coverage under the group plan for term life insurance.

EMERGENCY TREATMENT

Emergency treatment and follow-up for school connected injuries during activities on the hospital premises will be furnished by the Hospital, free of charge.

MEAL TICKET

The hospital provides to each enrolled student, free of charge, a meal ticket good toward the purchase of lunch per scheduled day in the hospital cafeteria.

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION WITH DRUG SCREEN

A physical examination by a Shands Jacksonville physician with laboratory tests, drug testing, x-rays, color blindness and TB skin test is required of incoming students and is provided free of charge by the hospital.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK

To be compliant with facility requirements, JCAHO standards and BCLP licensure requirements, successful completion of a mandatory criminal background check is required and is provided free of charge by the hospital. This must be completed before the mandatory hospital physical examination with drug screen can be scheduled.

HEPATITIS VACCINE

Hepatitis vaccination is offered to incoming students and is provided free of charge by the hospital.
